Curtain Cleaning FAQs

Which curtain fabrics do you clean?

We clean all curtain fabrics - Velvets, Velours, Voiles, Silks, Satins, Cottons and many more. If you are in any doubt as to whether your curtains can be cleaned please call and speak to one of us.

What is Dry Cleaning?

Dry Cleaning by machine is where a special cleaning solution/solvent is used in conjunction with the cleaning machine. Dry Cleaning is 100% the safest way to clean all curtain fabrics.

What is Steam Cleaning?

Steam Cleaning is more recently called ‘Water Extraction’ and gives the deepest clean however this method is not suitable for all curtain fabrics.
Cleaning solutions will be used regardless of the method used and we will always survey the fabrics first to decide the best course of treatment.

How long will it take?

On average 1 x pair of curtains takes approximately 1 x hour however it is dependent on the size of the curtains, the heading, type of fabric and how ‘soiled’ the curtains in question are.

How does the In Situ process work?

1) Visit you on the date agreed.
2) Bring equipment to your house/venue.
3) Carry out the in situ Curtain Cleaning.
4) Clean, Steam and Redress the curtains so that they look beautiful!
5) Leave you with clean and fresh scented curtains.

How does the Take Down and Rehang Service work?

1) Visit you on the date agreed.
2) Carefully take down the curtains and wrap in polythene covering to ensure the curtains are well protected.
3) Store the curtains until you are ready for them. Bring the curtains back on the date agreed, cleaned and then rehang, steam and dress so that they look stunning.
4) Leave you with clean and fresh scented curtains!

How do I pay?

Payments are made on the day that the curtain cleaning is carried out - either by card payment in person or via bank transfer on the day. An invoice will always be issued for your records.

How far in advance do I need to book?

2 x weeks notice is ideal however we will always do our best to fit you in!

Which areas do you cover?

We cover all of London and surrounding areas.
We also cover Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Middlesex.

Are my curtains in safe hands?

We have been handling curtains for 30 years and are Fully Insured. Curtains are treated with the utmost care and respect as is the property that we work in.

What is Dry Cleaning?

Dry Cleaning by machine is where a special cleaning solution/solvent is used in conjunction with the cleaning machine. Dry Cleaning is 100% the safest way to clean all fabrics. There are other methods used to clean furniture and each and every project is unique.
We will always decide on the best course of treatment once in from of the furniture in question.

What is Steam Cleaning?

Steam cleaning is more recently called  ‘Hot Water Extraction’.
Cleaning solutions will be used regardless of the method used in order to clean the Upholstery. This method gives the deepest clean however it is not suitable for all fabrics.
We will always survey the furniture first and decide on the best course of treatment.

How long will it take?

On average 1 x chair will take about 20 x minutes but this is a rough guide.
On average 1 x 2 seater sofa will take about 30 x minutes but this is a rough guide.

Do you clean sofas?

Yes we clean all sofas including Leather Sofas.

Do you clean chairs?

Yes we clean all chairs including Leather Chairs.

Do you clean Headboards?

Yes we clean all types of including Leather Headboards?

Is my furniture in safe hands?

Yes - we are Fully Insured and treat every project with the utmost care, respect and professionalism including the venues that we work in.

How far in advance do I need to book my appointment?

Ideally 2 x weeks notice is best however we will always try to fit you in as soon as we can!

How do I pay?

Payment is due on the day of which the works are being carried out - either by card in person or via bank transfer on the day.  An invoice will always be issued for your records.

Carpet Cleaning FAQs

Which types of carpets do you clean?

We clean all types of carpets, carpet runners and rugs.

Do you clean rugs?

Yes - we clean all types of rugs including antique rugs, oriental rugs and any handmade rugs.

Which method is used to clean carpets?

We use a combination of three methods:
Preventative Care
(Protective Treatments)
Corrective Care
(Absorbent compound/powder extraction, Bonnet Buffing, Dry foam Shampoo, Rotary Shampoo)
Restorative Care
(Deep Clean using Hot water Extraction)
Each of these methods uses particular machinery and/or procedures.

How long does the carpet cleaning take?

Times vary dependent on the size, type of carpet in question and how ‘soiled’ the carpet is.

Can you get rid of stains?

We offer stain removal and spot removal in addition to regular carpet cleaning.

How long are the carpets wet after cleaning?

This will depend on the the type of carpet in question and the cleaning techniques used on the day.

Does furniture need to moved before you arrive?

The clearer the space the better however we can work around it.

Can you walk on the carpet after it has been cleaned?

Yes however white soles are advised in order to not mark the carpets. Also care needs to be taken when travelling from wet carpet to hard flooring ie kitchen flooring.

Are my carpets in safe hands?

Yes - we are Fully Insured and treat all carpets and rugs with the utmost care and respect including the venues worked in.

Blind Cleaning FAQs

Which types of blinds do you clean?

We clean all types of blinds including; Pleated blinds, Roller blinds, Venetian blinds, Vertical blinds.  Roman blinds are cleaned in the same way as curtains are cleaned.

Are the blinds cleaned in situ?

Blinds are cleaned in our ultrasonics tank as this is the best method for cleaning blinds.

How long will I be without my blinds?

We aim to return and rehang your blinds as quickly as possible - ideally collect/take down on Friday and return/rehang on Monday.

Will the ultrasonics damage my blinds?

Ultrasonics is the safest way of cleaning blinds.  The method is called cavitation which is where millions of incredibly small bubbles once in contact with the blinds release any dirt or grime.

How much does blind cleaning cost?

Please call to speak to one of us as every blind is a different size.
We can quote over the phone to you once we have more information from you about the type and size of the blinds in question.
