Emergency Carpet Cleaning

17/09/2021

As summer comes to an end, and we welcome the autumn months, we begin the countdown to the festive season. Between now and the end of the year, there are a myriad of holidays to celebrate, from Halloween and Guy Fawkes night to Christmas and New Year. Not only does this make for an increasingly busy schedule, but it provides the opportunity to host friends and family. However, welcoming people into your home can result in accidents from glass breakages, to carpet stains. Whether it’s a red wine spillage or mud trodden through the house from the garden, such mishaps require emergency carpet cleaning to avoid long-lasting damage.

How to prevent further damage in an emergency before professional carpet cleaning?

First and foremost, it is important not to panic. Reacting quickly and effectively will help prevent any further damage. In the immediate aftermath of an accident, place multiple layers of kitchen paper on the spillage. Use a book to weigh down the kitchen paper, and draw out as much liquid as possible. Do not rub or scrub the surface, as this will only make the stain more difficult to remove. Change the kitchen towels as soon as they become saturated.

It is integral that you avoid the temptation to use any cleaning agents such as Vanish. Additionally, do not apply any liquids or salt, as this can lock the stain in, making it more difficult for an expert to salvage.

After removing as much of the stain as possible with the kitchen paper, call in an expert to professionally remove the remainder of the stain. While there can never be a guarantee of complete stain removal, following these steps will give your carpet the best possible chance of returning to its former state.

At Phoenix Interiors Cleaning we offer professional carpet cleaning for carpets, runners and rugs, plus stain removal and stain protection. We operate across London, Hertfordshire, and Buckinghamshire.
